	“Sir Bertrand, A Fragment” Anna Laetitia Barbauld, née Aikin, 1773 Study by Manuel Aguirre & Eva Ardoy One of the earliest texts in the genre, Barbauld’s story stands at the crossroads between medieval romance, fairytale and Gothic fiction, and constitutes a perfect example of the interface between canonical literature, popular culture and folklore.
